Terry went to be with the lord peacefully on Friday, April 3 rd , 2020 after a long battle with heart disease associated with Amyloidosis. He received a heart transplant in August of 2019.Terry was the fifth child of seven born to William B. and Daisy L. Crosby and raised in Muskegon Heights. He graduated from Muskegon Heights HS in 1976 and joined the U.S. Army where he served honorably with the Engineer Corp. Tours of duty included Korea and several tours in Germany where he met and married his wife Helena. Terry served over twenty (20) years in the army, and retired as a Sergeant First Class. He moved back to Muskegon to help care for his parents (which he did faithfully) and raise his
family; sons TJ, Byron and daughter Jessica.
Terry was employed at Herman Miller Furniture Co. until health problems forced him to medically retire in 2019. Terry’s greatest joy came from being with family. He loved spending time with his wife Helena and with his grandchildren; they brought joy that you could see and hear every time he would talk about them.
He loved coaching them in baseball and listening to Damion tell him stories. He also enjoyed watching baseball games, landscaping his yard and spending time playing dominoes with his friends Thomas Day, Dennis Jackson and his brother Ricky Crosby.
Terry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend and will be greatly missed by all who ever were blessed to be a part of his life. He was preceded in death by his father William B. Crosby, brother Gregory D. Crosby and loving nephew LeBron Crosby all of Muskegon, MI. He is survived by his wife, Helena Crosby, his sons Terry Crosby Jr. (TJ), Byron Crosby, daughter Jessica Bowen, mother Daisy L. Crosby, his brothers Timothy Crosby (Robin), and Ricky Crosby all of Muskegon, his brothers William Crosby Jr. (Mildred) of Pearland, TX, Bruce Crosby (Lisa) ofColorado Springs, CO. and sister Karen Crosby of Winston Salem, NC, five grandchildren, along with a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Due to travel restrictions imposed by the current health crisis, a memorial service will be held in Muskegon at a later date. Terry will be laid to rest at Fort Custer Military Cemetery in Battle Creek.
In life, we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else will ever fill.
